ADA CONVENES 2ND DRILLING CONSORTIUM FOR AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND

Australian Drilling Associates have contracted the Kan Tan IV semi-submersible drilling rig for an additional period of 350 days to drill 8 wells and a secondary period of 500 days for work in Australia and New Zealand. The Kan Tan IV is owned by Sinopec and managed by Maersk Contractors and will be mobilized from Trinidad to commence operations in the Bass Strait in Q2 2008. The Kan Tan IV is currently rated to drill in waters up to 1500 ft. ADA will be responsible for managing all aspects of the well planning and preparation and drilling operations for consortium members. ADA are currently filling the secondary term for 2009 with additional wells in Australia and New Zealand.
The Kan Tan IV will be an additional offshore unit joining the West Triton jack-up convened earlier this year for a consortium of operators with a combined 8 well drilling programme in the Otway and Gippsland Basins. The jack-up programme is also being progressively added to with additional wells for 2009.
